Welcome to Gene and Judy's Rugs. We are located in Chesnee, South Carolina. We, Gene and Judy Cantrell, created Gene and Judy's Rugs over 35 years ago in our small hometown of Chesnee, SC. Welcome to Gene and Judy's Rugs. We are located in Chesnee, South Carolina. We, Gene and Judy Cantrell, created Gene and Judy's Rugs over 35 years ago in our small hometown of Chesnee, SC. Gene designed and built homemade looms in his own garage. It all started as a hobby but has since then grown into something much larger. We have several looms are set up so that different size rugs can be made. Each rug, placemat, or runner is handmade from tube socks. These socks are NOW made in our garage in South Carolina. The socks are then cut up into small loops that we then dye into just about any color. Each rug can be made into any length, we are just restricted on the width as each loom is either 18", 24", 30", 36", or 72". Our most popular sizes are listed on our Rugs Sizes / Pricing page and we do accept special custom orders (These do take more time due to the dyeing process).
